DNA is a genetic material which means it passes from generations to generations with minor variations in it.

This transfer of genetic material takes place via cell division. Cell division is a process comprising of many steps and components that carry out division. These processes are controlled by special structures and proteins which are designed to control and stabilize the DNA flow in generations. Let say if these components fail to perform genetic material won’t pass along from parents to their offspring.
