I've had a life long interest in astronomy: some 15 years ago, when I was poor and living in Southern California I bought myself a early model Orion 6-in dob, which I could haul out to a fairly dark sky site (5-6 mag), which I enjoyed views of planets and faint fuzzies. I've since moved to New York city, in the middle of Manhattan, and I still have that itch bring out a telescope. I do have a couple of binoculars which I successfully found Comet PANSTARRS. But views of even Jupiter are quite disappointing in a pair of binoculars. So I'm contemplating getting
