How is tooth decay related to ph ,how can it be peevented

when we eat sweet substance,after this a bacteria present in our tooth started to make acid in our mouth, when our teeth becomes acidic ,also ph becomes less than 7, at that time enamel started to decay.. .
we can prevent it by providing base to our teeth and by avoiding to eat sweet substances
