For liquids volume is measured in units called litres
For solid the volume is expressed in the cubic measurement.

volume of liquid is measured by measuring the volume of the container in which it is stored in use unit litres where is volume of solid is measured by multiplying its Length, breadth and height in unit cubic metre to be in SI units respectively
