Groundwater is the water present beneath Earth's surface in soil pore spaces and in the fractures of rock formations. The depth at which soil pore spaces or fractures and voids in rock become completely saturated with water is called the water table.

Water tables are affected by several factors:

Seasonal rainfall and droughts

Salt contamination

Nitrates and phosphates from fertilizers

Bacteria from barnyard runoff or septic systems

Pesticides and fertilizers

Answer:

By increasing of population,

It creats more demands like construction of homes, offices, pavements and roads. This decrease open areas like playgrounds and parks. This in turn, decreases the seepage of rainwater into ground.

By increasing of industries,

Industries uses a lot of water. The groundwater is especially used in industries. So,the increasing of industries are also a reason of depletion of water table.
