Lichens are the organism comprising Algae i.e phycobiont and Fungi i.e Mycobiont.They live in symbiotic relationship where Fungi brings minerals and inorganic substances and algae being photosynthetic prepares food.

Whereas Mushrooms are saprophytic organisms which belong to Basidiomycetes(sub division of Fungi) .Ex-Agaricus.
