The light bounces off objects and into our eyes through the pupil behind the iris and pupil lies the lens which help to focus light on the back of the eye. most of the eye is filled with a clear gel called vitreous. light projects through the pupil and lens to the back of the eye. inside lining of the eye is covered by special light-sensing cells that are collectively called retina. the retina convert light into electrical impulses. behind the eye the optic nerve carries these  impulses to the brain.

Light rays enter the eye through the cornea, the clear front “window” of the eye. The cornea's refractive power bends the light rays in such a way that they pass freely through the pupil the opening in the center of the iris through which light enters the eye.
