Majoitarianism lead to alienation in majority community in Sri Lanka by adopting a series of MAJORITARIAN measures.

• In 1956,an act was passed to recognised Sinhala as the on official language.

•The government followed policies that favoured Sinhala applicants for university positions and government jobs.

•A new constitution stipulated (officially what must be done) that the state shall protect and foster (encourage)Buddhism
