  • They also decided to foster Buddhism in the country which further created a feeling of alienation among Tamils.
  • so the Tamils began demanding some demands like recognition of Tamil as the official language, more autonomy in Tamil provinces which were repeatedly denied by sinhala leaders.
  • These all led to many social tension in Sri Lanka which resulted in a civil war in the country.
