There are 9 1:6s in 1 \frac{1}{2}

GIVEN:- 1:6 and 1 \frac{1}{2}

TO FIND:- How many 1:6s are there

SOLUTION:-

For determining how many 1:6 are there in

1 \frac{1}{2}

we'll multiply a number by 1:6 will be equal to the given number

As we know in the ratio of 1:6 imply 1/6

Let the number of 1/6 in the given number be x

 \frac{1}{6}  \times x = 1 \frac{1}{2}  \\  \frac{x}{6}  =  \frac{(2 \times 1) + 1}{2}  \\  \frac{x}{6}  =  \frac{3}{2}  \\

By cross multiplication

2 \times x =  3 \times 6 \\ 2x = 18 \\

Dividing by 2 on both the sides

 \frac{2x}{2}  =  \frac{18}{2}  \\ x = 9

Hence, there are 9 1:6s in 1 \frac{1}{2}
