Alternate way: For choosing the one's digit, we have 6 options. For choosing the hundreds digit we have 5 options. For choosing the tens and ones digit we have 4 and 3 options respectively. Therefore total permutations = 6×5×4×3 = 360. That means 360 numbers.

Now if the numbers repeat then total number of permutations is 6×6×6×6 = 1296. Therefore if the digits can repeat, then there can be 1296 numbers formed.
