how many carpets 3m by 2m are required to cover the floor of a hall 30m by 12m

no. of carpets =area of the hall/area of carpet.
aresa of hall=30m*12m=360m^2
area of carpet =3m*2m=6m^2
hence no,of caroets =360m^2/6m^2(m^2/m^2 gets cancelled)

                                =60 carpets.
