What percentage of seats was occupied in the theatre?

a) More than 70%

b) Less than 70%

c) More than 75%

d) More than 80%

Solution:

Let say children were = 15C

in stalls = (2/15)15C = 2C

in Balcony = 15C - 2C = 13C

=> 13C = 468

=> C = 36

=> Children = 15C = 15 * 36  =   540

540 children had come to watch the movie

ratio of the number of adults to children was 3:5.

=> Adults  = (3/5) * 540  =   324

Total attendance = 540  +  324   = 864
