How many cubic metres of earth must be dug out to sink a well 14m deep and having a radius of 4m? if the earth taken out is spread over a plot of dimensions (25m×16m) what is the height of the platform so formed?

Dear friend -

Clearly, we have r=4m and h=14m.

Volume of the earth dug out of the well

=> (πr²h) cubic units = (22/7×4×4×14)m³
=> 704m³

Area of the given plot =(25×16)m²=400m²

Volume of the platform formed =volume of the earth dug out

=> 704m³

Height of the platform =>
 \frac{volume \: in \: m {}^{3} }{area \: in \: m {}^{2} }

( \frac{704}{400} )m =  \frac{176}{100} m = 1.76m

Hence, the hight of the platform so formed =1.76m

I hope it's help you
