First of all we have to find a relation between men and days,

And as we know, as number of men increases, the number of days required to complete the work will be less.

So, Number of men will be inversely proportional to number of days.

Hence, M1= K/D1, k is the constant of proportionality

Similarly, M2=K/D2

Combining both the equations we get,

M1/M2=D2/D1

i.e. 24/36=D2/48

Therefore, D2= 32

Hence, 36 men will complete the work in 32 days
