Answer: 270 degrees.

Explanation: Owls are able to rotate their heads to 270 degrees in either direction. This means they can see things on their left by rotating entirely to the right and vice versa. As a result they don`t need eyes on their back to see what lies behind them. They just swivel their head to keep track of things.

Humans have peripheral vision which allows them to see things that lies straight in front of them and also some object which lies a little left or right of them .This style of vision helps them to follow objects up, down and sideways without moving their head.

Owls on the other hand have fixed eye sockets which prevent them to perform like humans. They have to move their heads in order to keep an eye on their surroundings which help them in detecting prey and predators.

They are able to perform this unique function without causing harm to their blood vessels in necks and heads, and without restricting blood flow to their brains.

As a human, you are able to see what is directly in front of you and some of what is to the left and to the right of you. This is called your peripheral vision. Without moving your head, your eyes can follow objects up, down and side-to-side.

Owls can’t do this. Because they have fixed eye sockets, they must move their heads in order to see their surroundings. A wide range of motion is critical for survival as it helps them avoid predators and detect prey.
