A triangle has zero diagonals. A diagonal connects any two non-consecutive vertices of a polygon. The problem is in a triangle all vertices are consecutive, there are no unconnected vertices.
Notice in the triangle above all possible line segments are already drawn, AB, AC, and BC. Compare this to the quadrilateral. The line segments AB, BC, CD, and DA are all already drawn, however AC and BD are yet to be drawn, as they connect unconnected vertices

Hey! Here is your answer.
There is a formula for finding the diagonal of any polygon. The formula is:-
n=number of sides of the polygon
Formula=
n(n-3)/2
triangle=
3(3-3)/2=0/2=0
thus,triangle has no diagonal
square=
4(4-3)/2=4/2=2
thus,square has 2 diagonal .
Hope it May help you.
