There are two elements present in the PoCl2 and three elements present in the POCl3.

- PoCl2 is actually polonium dichloride. It has two elements, polonium and chlorine.

(Small 'o' doesn't represent oxygen. Oxygen is always represented by a capital 'O'.)

- On the other hand, POCl3 is phosphoryl chloride. It has phosphorus,oxygen and chlorine.

(Here, O is represented as oxygen)

- So,the basic difference is

PO = Phosphorus and oxygen

Po = Polonium.
