In aqueous solutions there are three forms of glucose:

 

a) alpha form of glucose (36%)
b) Beta form of glucose (64%)
c) a trace amount of the open chain form of glucose.

In aqueous solution form , glucose always exists in three forms in dynamic equilibrium.
