Given:
mass of water = 375g
%w/w of solution = 2.75%
Formula of %w/w of a solution is given by:
(mass of solute/mass of solute + mass of solvent) x 100%
Calculation:
W sucrose/W sucrose + W water x 100%
2.75/100 = W sucrose/ W sucrose + 375
2.75 (W sucrose) + 1031.25 = 100(W sucrose)
97.25 (W sucrose) = 1031.25
W sucrose = 1031.25/97.25
= W sucrose = 10.6g.
Hence mass of sucrose solution = 10.6 g
