The number of heterozygous plants which are present in the checkerboard depends on the type of plant which has been crossed.

Explanation:

  • While studying the genetic phenotype and the genotype of the material that has been crossed we draw up checker board
  • in the  board if the two elements which are present in the gene are of similar type they are said to be homozygous plants.
