eq will be
1/x + 1/(x-10) = 1/12
taking LCM
(x -10) + x / x* (x -10) = 1/12
(2X -10)/ X^2 - 10X = 1/12
cross multiplication
24X - 120 = X^2 - 10X
x^2 -34 x +120 = 0
x^2 - 30x -4x +120 =0
x(x-30) -4(x-30) = 0
x = 30,4
so x = 30
the slower pipe will take (x) = 30 hrs..
and faster pipe = 30 -10 =20 answer
