This layer is made up of decomposing leaves, animal droppings, dead trees and animals.

➡️ Understory layer:

The understory is made up of bushes, shurbs and young trees.

➡️ Canopy:

The canopy is formed by the mass of intertwined branches, things and leaves of the tall, mature trees. The canopy froms a shady, protective ''umbrela'' over the rest of the forest.

➡️ Emergent Layer:

The emergent layer exists in tropical rain forests. It is composed of a few scattered trees that tower over the canopy.
