Hi there !!

We are given two cubes each of sides 2 cm and 8 cm

The question is to find how many cubes of side 2cm can be made from a cube of side 8cm.

So,
We have to find the capacity of both the cubes.

Smaller cube
--------
Side = a = 2cm
Capacity (Volume) = a³ = 2³ = 8cm³

Bigger cube
-----------
Side = a = 8cm
Capacity = a³ = 8³ = 512 cm³

No: of cubes that can be made =  \frac{Volume.of.the .bigger.cube}{Volume.of.the.smaller.cube} =  \frac{512}{8}

= 64 cubes

Therefore ,
64 cubes of side 2 cm can be made from a cube of 8 cm

Let C₁ be bigger cube and C₂ be smaller cube respectively.
Bigger cube side =  8 cm
Small cube side = 2 cm
So, Volume of C₁ = a³
                            = (8)³
                            = 8 × 8 × 8
                            = 512 cm³
And, Volume of C₂ = a³
                               = (2)³
                               = 2 × 2 × 2
                               = 8 cm³
Now, Lead cubes made = 512/8
                                       = 64
∴ 64 lead cubes can be made..
