The ratio of milk and water 4:1

Total quantity of  mixture 60 liters

Solution:

quantity of milk in water = 60×(4/5) =48

quantity of water in milk =  60×(1/5) =12

Let x of water will be added

Now according to the question

                                             (48 + x) / (60 +x)=(60/100)

                                             10(48+x) = 6(60+x)

                                             480+10x=360+6x

                                             120=4x                                                    

                                             x= 30 litres

                       ∴30 litres water to be added
