Longitude is vertical imaginary lines drawn on the surface of the earth.

To cover the entire earth with an interval of 1° longitudes we should know that each degree of latitude makes 69 miles or 111km approximately.

There are a total of three hundred and sixty longitudes on earth and 180° longitude is known as the international date line.
