Given :

Radius of cone (r)= 17.5 m
Height of cone(h) = 6 m

Slant height of cone(l) = √r²+h²

l = √6²+17.5²

l = √36 + 306.25 = √342.25

l= √342.25 = 18.5 m

Curved surface area of cone = πrl

= 22/7× 17.5 × 18.5

= 22× 2.5 ×18.5= 1017.5

Curved surface area of cone =1017.5 m²

Width of Canvas= 1.25 m

Length of Canvas required = C.S.A of Canvas / width of canvas

Length of Canvas required =1017.5/1.25 = 814 m

Length of Canvas required =814 m

Hope this will help you.

Solution :-

Height of the cone = 6 m
Radius of the cone = 17.5 m

Slant height (l) = √r² + h²

⇒ √(17.5)² + (6)²

⇒ √306.25 + 36

⇒ √342.25

Slant height (l) = 18.5 m

Now, lateral surface area of cone = πrl

⇒ 22/7*17.5*18.5

= 7122.5/7

Lateral surface area of the cone = 1017.5 m²

Length of canvas of 1.25 m width will be needed to make the conical tent =

Lateral surface area of canvas/width of the canvas

⇒ 1017.5/1.25

⇒ 814 m

Hence, 814 m of canvas will be needed.
