Considering 24m as the slant height...
The area required to make the conical tent is: pi x r x l
which is = pi x 7 x 24
             = 168 pi
And so area of rectangular cloth is 168 pi
so the length required= 168 pi/ 2.5
                                  = 211m (3sf)

Hope this help you

220 m of cloth 2.5m wide is required to make a conical tent of whose base radius is 7m and height 24m

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the length of cloth be x

Width of cloth = 2.5 m

Area of cloth =Length \times Breadth = 2.5x

Cloth is required to make a conical tent of whose base radius is 7m and height 24m

Radius of cone = 7 m

Height of cone = 24 m

Curved surface area of cone =\pi r \sqrt{h^2+r^2}=\frac{22}{7} \times 7 \times \sqrt{24^2+7^2}= 550 sq.m.

So, 2.5 x = 550

x=\frac{550}{2.5}

x=220 m

Hence 220 m of cloth 2.5m wide is required to make a conical tent of whose base radius is 7m and height 24m
