● Explanation -

Chlorofluorocarbons in environment release chlorine free radical. This chlorine free radical decomposes ozone to oxygen by following reactions -

Cl• + O3 --> ClO• + O2

ClO• + O3 --> 2O2 + Cl•

As chlorine radical is regenerated in this reaction, the same Cl• can reduce about 100000 ozone molecules.
