How many moles of CO2 Can be produced by the reaction of 5.0g of C2H4 and 12g of O2? Which is limiting reagent?

C2H4 + 3O2 → 2CO2 + 2H2O

for calculating limiting reagent take mole ratio = actual mole/ given mole

eg for C2H4 = 1/0.17

= 5.08

whose mole ratio is less that substance is the limiting reagent

moles of C2H4  = 5/28

= 0.17

moles of O2 = 12/32

= 0.37

C2H4 is limiting reagent

1 mole of C2H4 produces 2 mole of CO2

0.17 mole of C2H4 produces = 0.17*2

= 0.34 mole of CO2
