Given,

Multiples of 4 between 10 and 250.

To find,

The number of such multiples.

Solution,

The number of multiples of 4 between 10 and 250 can be found by applying the concept of A. P.

As we can see that after 10, the multiples of 4 are,

12, 16, 20, 24, ... and so on.

Now, 250 is not a multiple of 4, but before that, 248 is a multiple of 4. So the last term is 248, and thus, the A. P. will be,

12, 16, 20, 24,..., 248.

For this A. P.

a = 12,

d = 4, and,

a_n= 248

Applying the formula for n^{th} term of an A. P. that is,

a_n=a+(n-1)d

⇒ 248 = 12 + (n-1)4

Simplifying and rearranging,

4(n-1) = 236

n-1 = \frac{236}{4}

⇒ n = 59 + 1

n = 60.

Therefore, the number of multiples of 4 that lie between 10 and 250 is 60.
