How many naturally occurring elements are there in the periodic table?

Hi!


This number is surprisingly hard to pin down.

If you Google it, most links say that the “naturally-occurring” elements are 1 - 92, with the exception of 43, technetium, and 61, promethium. So that would be 90.

But there are trace amounts of technetium in Earth’s crust. The 43rd element has been discovered in astonishingly small amounts in naturally-occurring nuclear reactors. I kid you not.
