here is your answer...

In order to find how many numbers exist between these two squares, we will need to subtract then.

 {1001}^{2} - {1000}^{2}

to do this in a simple method, we will have to use the identity.

 {a}^{2} - {b}^{2}

which is

( a + b ) ( a - b )

a is 1001 , b is 1000

let us substitute...

we get,

( 1001 + 1000 )( 1001 - 1000 )

which is ,

2001 ( 1)

=> 2001...

so, there are 2000 numbers between these two squares...

as the 2001 numbers might include one of the two numbers, 1000 or 1001, soo.. 2001-1
