A candidate failing in one of the five subjects of external examination shall be placed in CBSE Compartment Exam in that subject provided he/she qualifies in all the subjects of internal assessment. They can seek fresh enrollment in exams as private students or LOC (List of Candidates) which is submitted by their school admin. Only those students whose names will be in the list can appear in the CBSE Compartment Exam.
Students must not confuse CBSE compartment exam with CBSE improvement exam as improvement exams are just for the sake of improving your marks to get into a better college. CBSE compartment exam, however, is for those students who have failed in one of the five main subjects in the board exam with the option to reappear for them without having to repeat their 12th year again.
