Need to FinD :-

  • The number of moles in 540 grams of glucose.

\red{\frak{Given}}\Bigg\{ \sf There \ is \ 540g\ of \ glucose .

We know that , the number of moles can be find out when the mass of the substance is given as ,

Weight in gram divided by Molecular weight. Also we know the Molecular formula of Glucose is ,

\to\red{ \sf Molecular\ Formula \ = \ C_6H_{12}O_6}\\\\\sf\to\red{ Molecular\ Mass \ = \ (12)(6)+(12)(1)+(6)(16) = 180g}

Hence here ,

  • Given weight = 540 g
  • Molecular weight = 180 g

Using the Formula to find no. of moles:

\sf\dashrightarrow n_{(moles)}= \dfrac{Weight\ in \ gram }{Molecular\ Weight}\\\\\sf\dashrightarrow n_{(moles)}= \dfrac{540g}{180g} \\\\\sf\dashrightarrow \underset{\blue{\sf Required\ answer }}{\underbrace{\boxed{\pink{\frak{ n_{(moles)}= 3 \ moles }}}}}

Answer:

Molecular weight of Glucose (C6H12O6) is 180 grams

No.of.moles of glucose = weight/gram molecular weight

= 540/180 = 3 moles
