How many pieces of rope of each 5 1/6 metres long can be cut from a rope of 77 1/2 metres long?

Length of the rope = 77½m

no. of piece that can be cut

= total length of the cloth/length of a piece.

= (155/2)/(31/6)

= (155) (6) / (2) (31)

= (5) (3)
