Given :- How many pieces of stone slabs each 12 cm long and 7.5 cm broad will be required to lay a path 24 m long and 9 m wide .?

Solution :-

we know that,

  • Area of rectangle = Length * Breadth .
  • 1 m = 100 cm.

so,

→ Area of path = L * B = (24*100 * 9*100) cm².

and ,

→ Area of 1 stone slab = L * B = (12 * 7.5) cm².

now, Let us assume that, n number of stone slabs are required to lay the path .

then,

→ Number of stone slabs * Area of 1 stone slab = Area of path

→ n * (12 * 7.5) = (2400 * 900)

dividing both sides by 12,

→ n * 7.5 = 200 * 900

dividing both sides by 7.5,

→ n = 200 * 120

→ n = 24000 (Ans.)

Hence, Total 24000 stone slabs are required to lay the path .
