How many planks each of which is 2m long,2.5cm broad and 4cm thick can be cut off from wooden block 6m long,15cm and 40 cm thick?

volume of wooden block/volume of each plank gives the number of planks we can obtain from the wooden block

wooden block and plank resembles cuboid

volume of cuboid = l*b*h

l= length
b= breadth
h= height

Volume of wooden block = 6*0.15*0.4
Volume of plank = 2*0.025*0.04

no of planks that can be obtained are

6*0.15*0.4/2*0.025*0.04
0.36/0.002=180

hence you can obtain 180 planks in total
