For indoor volleyball, there are 12 players per team, and 6 substitutions is the maximum number permitted per set. One or more players can be simultaneously substituted.

For indoor volleyball, there are 12 athletes each team should have, and 6 substitutions are the highest number allowed per team. There is a specific substitution zone which substituting players need to stand in to be formally sanctioned. There is a libero athlete in the team. This is the volleyball player who can be interchanged countless times.  A Libero cannot take part in regular exchanges and may only join or exit the game while the ball is out of play and before the signal for service.
