Protons and electrons can be determined by atomic number:

no. of p+ = no. of e- = atomic number

Neutrons can be determined by atomic mass (when atomic no. is known)

Atomic no. + no. of neutrons= atomic mass

no. of protons + no. of neutrons = atomic mass

Thus

no. of neutrons = atomic mass - no. of protons
