The ventral nervous cord is one of the main portion of the CNS of the cockroach. the ganglia is segmented and it is located on the anterior side of the nerve cord. In cockroach, ventral nerve cord is present on ventral side. it also has 2 longitudinal nerve cords that are the solid in nature. therefore it is also called as double nerve cord system. the nervecord is present between the last abdominal ganglia and the sub oesophageal position and it has major role in the communication. the segmental ganglia are 9 in the cockroach from which there are three thoracic and six are abdominal.
