The central nervous system of the cockroach has the sub oesophageal ganglion, supra oesophageal ganglion also called brain and the nerve cord. Supra-oesophageal ganglion or cerebral ganglion is a bilobed structure situated in the head in front of oesophagus. It represents the brain and is concerned mainly with sensory function. The endocrine centre of cockroach consists of inter-cerebral gland cells, corpora allata, corpora cardiaca and prothoracic glands.
