how many shots each having diameter 4 cm can be made from a cuboidal lead solid of dimensions . 9cm × 12cm × 12cm ?

Given ,

a cuboidal lead solid of dimensions =

using formula

[ volume of cuboid = l × b × h ]

l = 9cm

b = 11cm

h = 12cm

v of cuboid = l × b× h

= 9cm × 11 cm × 12cm

= 1183 cm^3

diameter of each shot = 4 cm

radius of each shot , r = 4 / 2 cm

r = 2 cm

now finally find volume of each shot =

 = \frac{4}{3} \pi {r}^{3} \\ \\ = \frac{4}{3} \times \frac{22}{7} \times {1}^{3} \\ \\ = \frac{88}{21} \\ \\ = {4.19cm}^{3}

find number of shots equal to

= \frac{1188}{4.19}

= 283 ( approx)

therefore required number of shots equal to 283 ( approx)
