Answer: There are 6 sigma and 3 bonds in CH2 C CH2

Explanation:

There are 2 CH2

1 CH2 contain 2 single bonds (which are sigma bonds) with H

So, 2 CH2 will contain 4 sigma bonds

There are double bonds between CH2 & C in the 1st half

A double bond means 1 sigma and 1 pi bond

Similarly in the 2nd half (between C & the 2nd CH2) a double bond

So again, 1 sigma and 1 pi bond

Therefore, total number of sigma bonds = 4 + 2 = 6

And total number of pi bonds = 1 + 1 = 2

Total number of bonds = 6 +2 = 8

Hope it Helps!
