Five sigma and one pi bond is present in ethylene.

  Ethylene is present in a gaseous form containing hydrogen and carbons, therefore, it is a hydrocarbon. It occurs either naturally or combustion process. It does not have a characteristic smell. During the ripening process of fruits, some fruits like apple and pears will produce ethylene.

  Ethylene have one double bond, hence, it called as an alkene. The molecular formula of ethylene is { C }_{ 2 }{ H }_{ 4 }. In this compound, two carbon atoms are linked by the double bond and the remaining four hydrogens are connected by a single bond with carbon.
