    Let us first get the value of x to know how many solutions does it have :-

4x+1= 5+2(x-4)

4x+1=5+2x-8

4x+2x=5-1-8

2x = 4 -8

2x = -4

x =  \frac{-4}{2}

x= -2

Hence , the given equation has unique solution .
