We have one big square and three small squares.
BIG SQUARE:
(4 × 4) Squares = 1
(3 × 3) squares = 4
(2 × 2) squares = 9
(1 × 1) squares = 16
This gives a total of : 30
The small squares.
Total = 3
(2 × 2) squares = 4 × 3 = 12
This adds up to 15 squares.
30 + 15 = 45squares
