Well in question given two lengths it means they are talking about RECTANGLE.

First we will find the area of floor.

Area of rectangle =  Length × Breadth

                        = 9.8 m × 6.4 m

                        = 62.72 m ²

Area of the floor is 62.72 m ²

Now area of the tile will find.

One  length given it means tile is in Square  shape.

Area of tile and area of the floor have different units so firstly we will make them as same units.

We will convert 14 cm into m

As we know that 100 cm = m

∴ 14 cm = 14 ÷ 100  m

= 0.14

Area of tile = Side × side

                  = 0.14 × 0.14

                  = 0.0196 m ²

To find how many tiles required we need to divide

Tiles required = area of floor ÷ area of tile

= 62.72 m ² ÷ 0.0196 m ²

= 3200 tiles

Hope it helps :)

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of the room is = l×b

= 144×120

= 17280 sq cm

area of the square tile = side × side

= 24×24

= 576 sq cm

squares will needed to cover the floor are = 17280/576

= 30

30 squares are needed to cover the floor .
