Given :

  • Length of floor of corridor = 8m
  • Breadth of floor of corridor = 6m
  • Side of square tile = 25cm

To find :

Number of square tile required to cover floor

Formula used :

  • Area of rectangle = length × breadth
  • Area of square = side × side

Solution :

  1. First of all we need to find area of floor of corridor.
  2. After that we will find area of square tile.
  3. Then , area of floor of corridor = Number of tile × area of one tile

1) Area of floor of corridor = length × breadth

➝ Area of floor of corridor = (8×100 cm) × (6×100cm)

➝ Area of floor of corridor = 480000 cm²

2) Area of square tile = side × side

➝ Area of square tile = 25 cm × 25cm

➝ Area of square tile = 625 cm²

3) Number of square tile × Area of one tile = Area of floor of corridor

➝ Number of square tile × 625cm² = 480000 cm²

➝ Number of square tile = 480000cm² ÷ 625cm²

➝ Number of square tile = 768 tiles
