there are totally four states of matter
1 The solid state
in the solid state molecules are tightly packed and they only possess vibrational motion and they have a fixed volume
example spoon table
2The liquid state
in the liquid state molecules move freely although the volume is fixed and cannot be changed
example water milk
3 the gaseous state
in this state the molecules moves freely and the volume is also not fixed
i.e air oxygen
4 plasma state
it is the fourth state of matter formed by the ionization of gas molecules as they are passed through an electric or magnetic field
when gas is heated continuously the molecules move faster and faster and they loose electrons by collisions this ionic state of gas is called plasma
plasma is produced in flourecsent bulbs
